Marshall focuses his practice on all aspects of preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the mechanical and electrical fields. Marshall’s electrically related practice has included the manufacturing and design of semiconductors, wireless communication methods and protocols, computer databases, and cloud-based networks. Marshall’s mechanically related practice includes software-based control unit functions that are implemented by a wide range of mechanically oriented inventions including the automotive, medical, and industrial manufacturing industries, as well as three-dimensional printing technologies of electronic circuits and other structural components, electric and fuel cell technologies, the power industry, green energy industry, and the manufacturing industry. Marshall has also drafted freedom to operate opinions, noninfringement and infringement opinions, and invalidity opinions.

Prior to joining Muir Patent Law, Marshall worked for a large general IP firm in downtown Washington D.C. for several years and also has had several years of industry related experience working as a Project Engineer during the heavy structural phases of the construction of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.

Marshall graduated from The George Washington University School of Law in the top 5% with a J.D. of high honors where he specialized his legal studies on intellectual property related issues, and was also a member of the Law Review.
