Arthur Smith Patent Attorney

Arthur Smith has over 20 years of patent experience as a patent attorney and a patent examiner. Prior to joining Muir Patent Law, Mr. Smith served as in-house patent counsel at Fujitsu. At Fujitsu, Mr. Smith was involved in all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, and litigation counseling. Representative technologies included: communication networks (e.g., connection-oriented Ethernet, optical transport technologies, and mobile broadband) and software/digital solutions (e.g., cloud computing, autonomous vehicles, deep learning, data encryption, and biometric authentication).

Prior to Fujitsu, Mr. Smith was an associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. Additionally, Mr. Smith served as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he examined patent applications in the fields of photography, motion pictures, optics, and semiconductor manufacturing.
